MAGNOLIA GEM
Challenges & Goals
This family home was yearning to be liberated from the effects of several remodels that left it with mismatched finishes and framing, low ceilings and fragmented living spaces. The family’s primary goals were to:
- Create a family/great room connected to the kitchen
- Expand common areas
- Achieve a more unified, lasting style
- Create a stronger connection between the interior and exterior of their home
Solutions & Results
Great Room Addition
A roomy, welcoming gathering place for family and friends was designed with double sliding doors and large, light-welcoming windows that connect the space with the back yard and deck, bringing more of the outside in.
Kitchen Remodel
Expanding and organizing the kitchen created the space to connect with family and entertain friends while cooking with convenience. A custom rounded banquette unites the kitchen with a cozy hang-out area that flows into the family room.
Master Suite
Reconfiguring the parental sanctuary fulfilled the needs of a busy working couple with sensible, abundant storage, walk-in closets, a deluxe double vanity and a walk-in shower.
Kids’ Rooms, Closets and Bath
Putting the fun in functional, large closets were built to add storage that makes room for play spaces connected by a secret door. Updating the kids’ bathroom completed the new look on the main level.
