Our clients needed more space but wanted to stay true to the character of their 1906 Ballard home. With this two-story addition, we added a new bathroom and dining room on the first floor, with a master bedroom above. Finally, the basement was dug down to create a new family room. Molding details, plumbing fixtures, and other materials were carefully chosen to complement the home's turn-of-the-century charm. The entire family (parents and two kids) helped design the cool medallion tile pattern in the bathroom floor, which slopes to a drain under the claw-foot tub so that no shower curtain is required. With its faithful period touches, this new addition provides even more to love about this well-crafted Ballard home.
