West Seattle Detached Garage: Stylish Storage Solution

This West Seattle homeowner sought a detached garage that complemented their recently remodeled home and offered highly-valuable gear storage.

The Challenge: 

Limited space dictated a single-car garage footprint. The primary need was storage for bikes, tools, and outdoor equipment, rather than vehicle parking.

The Solution: 

We designed a single-car garage that maximized the available footprint and building height to create ample interior storage. Instead of a standard overhead door, custom carriage doors were installed to align with the home’s aesthetic and preserve storage within the roof rafters. The exterior finishes (siding, trim, windows, and paint) were carefully selected to seamlessly match the house. The interior was finished with durable, utilitarian materials to prioritize function, including 2×4 rack storage, plywood walls, and a concrete floor.
