North Ballard Front Entry  

A beautiful home starts with a welcoming and safe entrance. This North Ballard project demonstrates that even small exterior updates can make a meaningful impact on a home’s value and accessibility. We were thrilled to partner with these homeowners for the third time, having previously remodeled their primary bathroom and kitchen. 

Project Goals: 

• Enhance curb appeal of a classic Ballard bungalow. 

• Resolve safety issues, including broken concrete and failing railings. 

• Modernize the entry with a sleek, updated design. 

• Improve accessibility for all visitors. 

The Challenge: 

Like many older Ballard homes, the original concrete stoop was beginning to fail. The concrete was crumbling, and the metal railings were no longer secure. Additionally, the sidewalk leading from the street had developed several cracks over the years, creating potential tripping hazards for the homeowners and their guests. 

The Solution: 

We replaced the outdated stoop with a completely new design that prioritizes both safety and style. To make the climb feel effortless, we designed a gentler approach that includes a midway landing. We also installed a custom metal handrail that provides a secure grip while adding a sleek, modern architectural detail to the home’s landscaping. This straightforward solution transformed a safety concern into an attractive focal point.
