Greenwood DADU Conversion

Backyard Rental

Our clients wanted to convert their unused, dilapidated backyard workshop into a long-term rental unit. Working within a limited budget, we met Seattle’s DADU code requirements, made the renovated space safe and inviting for tenants, and preserved some of the workshop’s charming rustic elements, such as stained concrete floors, unfinished cedar window casings, and a large cedar exterior door. Inside this one-bedroom DADU, we replaced a very unsafe set of stairs with a new wood and steel pipe ladder to the second-floor loft space, adding visual interest in the process.
